    On Monday, June 12, 2023, the Asharqia Chamber, represented by the Business Council of the Jubail Governorate branch, organized a workshop that reviewed the appointment reservation system in the Jubail Commercial Port.

    The business operations leader at the Dammam Exchange Office, Ali bin Muhammad Al-Yahya, said that the system is a project designed with the latest technologies to manage and improve the operation of incoming and outgoing trucks, in integration with relevant partners, indicating that the project aims to reduce the operating time of trucks to reach the clearing of ports and ports and increase operational capacity. Customs ports by facilitating entry and exit procedures for trucks.

    Al-Yahya explained during the workshop, which was moderated by the Chairman of the Business Council, Saad bin Muhammad Al-Buainain, that the system is characterized by providing multiple services with the relevant authorities, namely: “The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority” by automating customs procedures with the electronic appointment system, where all procedures are confirmed before taking the electronic appointment. And “General Security” by activating reservations 24 hours a day so as to contribute to the smooth movement and reduce pressure during peak times in the residential and industrial areas surrounding the port, and “Border Guard” by automating procedures for driver and truck entry permits to the seaport with the Zuwal platform, And the flow of movement in an orderly manner, which reduces accidents inside the port, and the “General Authority for Transport” by automating fleet management procedures by linking to a wasl platform to ensure the activity and regular status of the truck and the driver, and the “General Authority for Ports” by automating all services related to entry and exit From sea ports, and automation of procedures for verifying port fees for shipments, and as for "operation and support", it is done by activating reservations 24 hours a day, ensuring the readiness of the container for loading before arrival, and automating the operator's approval procedures for the appointment.​

    ​​​​Al-Yahya stated that the system was able to succeed in reducing the truck turnover from 7 hours to 30 minutes only, the frequency of visiting the truck from one time to 3 times, reducing truck reception times from 8 hours to 24 hours only, and reducing paper requirements from 6 papers to only one paper. And also reduce congestion in the waiting areas around the ports through the use of waiting areas in case of business continuity.
